Challenge
As a well respected lift service company Hoistway were initially asked to help get the existing OTIS WAYGOOD units from 1954 running again. This we were able to do, to help the company carrying out the first phase strip out. From this point Hoistway were asked to tender for the removal and re installation of 2 new 1000kg 13 person machine room less goods passenger lift. The challenge was to design, manufacture, installation and commission 2 bespoke cutting edge lifts to suit a pair 60 year old lift shafts.

Solution
Hoistway and their manufacturing partners IMEM came up with a design for a duplex pair of machine room less 1000Kg 13 person lifts running at 1.0m/s over the buildings 8 floors. By utilising the new CAM BUS technology inline with a very efficient and quiet DIANNA Gearless Drive Unit, Hoistway were able to offer a lift package that was not only quite but very energy efficient giving long term cost savings. The lift cars layouts were all designed to the client's requirements with recessed flooring to take the main entrance tiling and a specially designed stainless steel suspended ceiling.
With a project period of only 5 month Hoistway were under pressure from the start. Even with the usual problems of working on an existing building site with multiple trades Hoistway were able to supply install and commission both lift within an 18 week period. This is shorter than most of the big companies manufacturing periods.

Results
With both of the lifts being installed on time and within budget Hoistway and Leadbitter agree that the lift contracts were a great success.
From this success Hoistway have reinforced their reputation in the marketplace and developed a new long term relationship with a major building contractor, which is already showing signs of future works with a further 3 project incorporating Hoistway lift tenders awaiting clients decisions.

We Say
"Working with Leadbitter Construction on this project was both demanding and pleasurable. Leadbitters belief in Hoistway,s abilities allowed us to deliver the products the building required and deserved in a very short space of time. Very few contracts of this Nature run in this manner and that,s credit to the construction team Leadbitter appointed to the project."
